Requirements

Job Description
Provide direct patient care to patients, maintain accurate records, and uphold of professional standard through continuing education and development. Perform patient and family education.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist with the provision of nursing care for patients on chemotherapy. Duties will include:
- Assisting with initial health assessment of patient
- Observing and recording the condition of patients;
- Checking, dispensing and administering drugs and injections;
- Responding to emergencies;
- Communicating with and relieving the anxiety of patients and their relatives;
- Educating patients about their health;
- Maintaining patient records;
- Assisting doctors in minor procedures
Job Requirements
- Candidate must possess at least a Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, Post Graduate Diploma or Professional Degree in Nursing or equivalent, preferably in the field of medical oncology.
- 1-2 years of experience in the industry will be an added advantage.
- Registered with the Singapore Nursing Board (SNB).
- Highly motivated with the ability to work in a team and a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and people management skills.
Job Description
Act as a patient advocate by ensuring patient’s drug therapy is followed as prescribed by doctor.
Job Responsibilities
Act as a patient advocate by ensuring patient’s drug therapy is followed as prescribed by doctor.
- Foster sound relationship with staff, patient and public.
- Perform and assist in diluting and reconstituting chemo drugs using Laminar airflow Hepa filter Isolator.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with the company procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Maintain current notes and paper works related to patient’s treatment.
- Perform all tasks in a safe manner that is consistent with the company policy.
- Perform duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Clinic Nurse Manager/ Clinic Nurse in Charge/ Senior Pharmacy Technician.
- Assist in Clinical Trial dispensing of drugs and documentation.
- Handling of Medications:
- Assist in dispensing medications as prescribed by the doctors under the supervision of Clinic Nurse Manager / Clinic Nurse in Charge/Senior Pharmacy Technician in accordance with the company SOPs.
- Apply principles of safe handling of medications.
- Anticipate, prepare, and differentiate between the various medications and compatibility issues.
- Ensure IV medications, diluents and calculation of dose is counter checked by a Registered Staff Nurse or Doctor.
- Safe handling and disposal of chemotherapy agents.
- Safe handling of Controlled drugs.
- Prevent and manage cytotoxic drug spillage.
- Promote patient’s drug compliance to medications and provide counselling to patient.
- In charge of the drug’s inventories by ensuring sufficient drugs are at all times maintained, drugs near expiry date are exchanged and/or written off. Determine stock level and anticipating needed medications.
- Ensure stocks are stocked up systematically according to first expiry/ first out (first in/ first out.
- Liaise with purchaser to place and expedite order of medications. Raise purchase requisition and purchase order when stock reaches reorder level.
- Organize medications to be dispensed to patients by reading doctor’s orders carefully. Prepare labels with instructions, adhering to the 5 rights of medication.
- Serves as a resource person for knowledge of medication uses, side effects and dosage.
