SINGAPORE - There is a new undergraduate bursary for needy students at the National University of Singapore's Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. It will be available from the new academic year, starting in August 2015.
The bursary, known as OncoCare Medical Bursary, was established by the OncoCare Cancer Centre, which has pledged a sum of $750,000 over five years. It was founded by consultant medical oncologist, Dr Tay Miah Hiang, who is an NUS Medicine alumnus and a former undergraduate bursary recipient.
"We are a Singaporean medical group and we want to do something special in this 50th year of our country's celebrations," said Dr Tay.
