Breast cancer is the most common cancer in Singaporean women and the incidence rates have been rising over the past decade. Although the large majority of early breast cancers remain in remission, the possibility of recurrence either locally or in distant sites pose a real concern. It is important to recognize  the signs and symptoms of recurrence, and also to be aware that because of the multitude of therapeutic options available currently,  that it is possible for many women to continue to lead long and productive lives even when the disease is advanced. This talk will cover new and significant developments in the field of chemotherapy, targeted therapy, endocrine therapy and immunotherapy in breast cancer management.
