Dr Tan Hon Lyn is a Senior Medical Oncologist. Her subspecialty interests are in gastrointestinal cancers and neuroendocrine tumors.
She obtained her medical degree from the National University of Singapore where she received the Lee Kuan Yew Gold Medal for being the best graduate throughout the course of study. She completed her post-graduate training in the Internal Medicine Residency Programme followed by the Senior Residency Programme in Medical Oncology at the National University Health System.
Before entering private practice, Dr Tan Hon Lyn was Consultant with the Department of Haematology-Oncology, National University Cancer Institute, Singapore (NCIS). She was involved in both undergraduate and postgraduate education with appointments including Clinical Assistant Professor on the Clinical Faculty Scheme for the Department of Medicine, National University of Singapore Yong Loo Ling School of Medicine, and Core Faculty for the National University Health System Internal Medicine Residency program.
She was also involved in clinical research in several international multi-center trials. Her research work has been published in peer-reviewed journals including Journal of Clinical Oncology, Clinical Cancer Research.
She is honorary secretary of the executive committee of the Singapore Society of Oncology (SSO) and member of other professional bodies including Singapore Medical Association (SMA), European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO), American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO).
Dr Tan is fluent in English, Mandarin, and is able to converse in Hokkien/Teochew and Malay as well.
